ESL One: Road to Rio – NiP vs. ENCE

Match day 3 of the ESL One: Road to Rio Europe Division kicked off with the very first match between Ninjas in Pyjamas and ENCE esports. The two Scandinavian esports giants went head to head for a qualifying spot for the upcoming ESL One Rio Major is set to take place later this year.
It was a pretty intense scene going into the matchup, not for NiP but ENCE Esports. This is because NiP was already leading Group A, with a very comfortable score of 3 wins in 3 matches. While ENCE ‘s start wasn’t as good. So, this was their time to prove to the world that they are here to fight.

And well, from what we say, they truly were. The voting rounds ended with Train, Overpass, and Inferno. In the first game, we saw some of the best plays from both teams, and that was just in the first half. With a score of 8:7, with NiP leading, we went onto the second half where ENCE made a nail-biting comeback, right at the end. The score tied up and headed into overtime, but it was there, ENCE failed to perform. NiP won the first game against ENCE bring to best of 3 score to 1:0.

With NiP taking home the first win, ENCE had to step up or it was all over for them. Both teams went full-on in the next match but after an intense fight, ENCE finally came out victorious but just by a margin. Team NiP’s twist had the Finnish players sitting on the edge of their seats at all times.

The third and final game. Inferno, the perfect map name for the perfect match-up. Both teams, with a win each, the stage was set. Both teams went in headfirst, but it seemed as if one team had already given it their all in their previous match-up. We are talking about ENCE. It was a massacre in the last game. NiP annihilated ENCE with a final score of 16:5. And as a result, NiP won its 4th game of the tournament, bringing their total points to 12. While ENCE, sits with only 3 points till now.
