Big news from Capcom/Namco

News from San Diego Comic-Con has been pretty light so far this year, up until recently. At Capcom’s ‘Street Fighter and Beyond’ panel, a ton of juicy announcements were made. For one, Yoshinori Ono announced that Third Strike would be getting an online edition re-release similar to the treatment that Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo was given when HD Remix was released. Word has yet to come on whether or not 3rd Strike will be getting any sort of graphical updates, but it’s exciting news nonetheless.
Secondly, the arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4 will be getting 2 new characters. There’s been no official announcement concerning who the characters are, speculation over at Shoryuken suggests that one of them may be Rolento. Of course, speculation is just that – speculation, and it could easily be any of the characters who have yet to make a return in SSF4, or two new ones for that matter. But still, how sweet would it be if it was Q and Rolento? Pretty damn sweet.
And the biggest announcement for Capcom (and Namco): the two publishers are making a joint effort to bring fans two different versions of Street Fighter vs. Tekken. Capcom’s version will be in the same style as SSF4 with 3D models and 2D stages whereas Namco’s take on the game will utilize full 3D arenas. How the characters will fair during the conversion remains to be seen, but Capcom’s version is likely going to be a day 1 purchase for me no matter what. Perhaps Namco’s as well if they do away with the 60% juggles from Tekken 6.
All I need now is for Inafune’s Mega Man tease to materialize into Mega Man X9 and I’ll consider this year’s Comic-con a huge success.

The only characters I think that will give tekken intense battles are Ryu, Ken, Bison, Possibly Seth, Akuma and even ryu in Dark Hadou form, and some others.
All other street-fighter charaters are pretty much low-class fighers.
And also, another popular demand is Tekken Vs Virtua Fighter, But for maybe the next decade, it just won't happen, Virtua Figther and Tekken are already competitive rivals in their own Fighting Genre.
